Visa Information and Flight Information
Information About Visa Regulations change all the time, and every consulate is different. Therefore, it is very important that you visit your jurisdiction's consulate website for more information on how to apply for a visa and what documents you need. Some consulates require you to appear in person to apply for a visa or receive a visa. Unfortunately, some consulates may even require the students to appear in person more than once. Please check your consulate's webpage to see if there is a vice-consulate in your local area which is closer to where you live. Everyone needs a passport valid for the duration of the stay abroad and return. Various consulates in the country often change their list of requirements, even if we try to give you as much information as possible. Please note that ACA CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE CHANGES. Therefore, it is VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CHECK THE CONSULATE'S WEBSITE OFTEN. Keep safe all the documents you receive from ACA. For your records, please make a copy of all the documents before you submit them to the consulate. Any question, please contact ACA at 301-680-6444 or email aca@nad.adventist.org For long term stay abroad, in order to obtain a visa, most all the Consulates ask for a Health Note from your physician's office; and a statement from your local Police Station stating you do not have a criminal record. Therefore, please have these documents ready. Student Visa Although ACA sends the students all the needed supporting documents and materials for visas, we must emphasize that ACA has NO power over Consulates or Embassies and their ever changing policies. Therefore, please also visit the website of your particular consulate for more information. One cannot over-emphasize the need to obtain the student visa prior to leaving for another country. Failure to do so can cause many difficulties, including a trip home to obtain the visa. Any deviation from this procedure should be made only by the consular office through which a visa is sought. Students going to France, Italy or Spain should make sure that the visa is for the full academic year. Students going to France and Spain may discover that their initial visa is for only 90 days. The visa can and should be extended during the first term. The international schools will assist students in getting this visa extension. The ACA office in Maryland sends students information about obtaining visas with their acceptance package. See also the Bulletin pages 20-22 . For long term stay abroad, in order to obtain a visa, most all the Consulates will ask for a Health Note from your physician's office, and a statement from your local police station stating you do not have a criminal record. Therefore, please have these documents ready. ARGENTINA: Visa is NOT required for US or Canadian citizens to enter Argentina.
